Yesterday marked a significant and encouraging milestone for the Zimbabwe West Annual Conference MUMC (Vabvuwi) with the successful drilling of a borehole at Nyadire Camping Ground—an achievement that clearly reflects the “O – Ongoing Sustainability” and “N – Nurturing Communities” pillars of the Episcopal Vision: BEACON. This step forward strengthens infrastructure that supports both the spiritual life of the church and the well-being of the surrounding community.

Witnessing this milestone achievement were Mutoko Mudzi (MMD) District Superintendent Rev. Phillip Musharu, MMD Connectional Ministries Director Rev. Muneni Katsande , and Nyadire Mission Station Chair Rev. Lancelot Mukundu.

Nyadire Camping Ground (located near Nyadire Mission in Mutoko) remains a sacred gathering place where believers meet for prayer retreats, conventions, and Revivals . The successful drilling of this borehole brings us closer to addressing the long-standing need for a reliable water source, enhancing the experience for all who come to this holy ground.

Beyond its importance to church activities, this development carries meaningful community impact. Access to clean and dependable water promotes health, dignity, and convenience—not only for congregants, but also for the surrounding community. It creates opportunities for greater hospitality, outreach, and service, reinforcing the church’s role as a source of both spiritual and practical support.

The successful drilling of the borehole stands as a powerful reminder that when vision meets action, lives are transformed. This is more than progress—it is the BEACON vision in motion.

The drilling works were carried out by Florida Engineering, whose expertise and efficiency made this important step possible.
