The United Methodist Church UK Mission Area heralded a new chapter in their fledging two decade existence as one of their own products Reverend Kudzanai Honourable Mudambanuki was commissioned as their new District Superintendent on Sunday at The Church of Christ, The Cornerstone in Milton Keynes.

The hybrid event saw relatives, friends, the Mission Area congregants converge for what was a historic event presided over virtually by Zimbabwe Episcopal Area leader Bishop Eben Nhiwatiwa.

The church, in an emotional poignant moment, took time before the commissioning to remember and reflect the life and works of the late DS Reverend Lizzy Chigwizura, who led the district up until the time of her untimely demise in December 2024.

Born in February 1972 in Mutare, DS Reverend Mudambanuki did his primary education at Chipfatsura (1980-1986) and proceeded to Hartzell and Mutambara for his secondary education (1987-1992)

He relocated to the United Kingdom after attaining his CIS between 1993 and 1995 and furthered his studies.

Notably academic achievements included DIP Higher Education in Mental Health Nursing, Honours in Nursing and a BA Honours in Theology.

He answered his call to ministry in 2003 at the Portsmouth MUMC Revival in Hampshire.

He served as Assistant Pastor for South Charge (2013-2014), Central Charge (2014-2015) South Charge, this time on a part time basis in 2016 and as Pastor in Charge between 2017 and 2022 before being appointed Central Charge Pastor in Charge 2023 before his latest appointment.

He is married to Zvikomborero Patience Mudambanuki (nee Zinyemba) since 1997 and are blessed with two children Praise more Rumbidzwai and Rachel Ropafadzo.
