Three Harare West District RRW choirs took the limelight at the recently held Zimbabwe West Annual Conference (ZWAC) RRW Music Festivals held at Revelation United Methodist Church, Mabelreign. 29 choirs participated in the festivals with each choir having an average of 15 choristers.
Kuwadzana, Harare Inner City and Mabelreign took the first, second and third positions respectively in the Group A Category. The top honours for the Group B were taken by Kadoma East, Gweru East and Bindura circuits in that order.
The Best-Dressed choir trophy went to Kadoma East and the Best Conductor to Harare Inner City.
The day was fully-coloured with the Ebenezer colours, powerful choral music renditions from the choirs that had a mix of the young and elderly women – a unifying force.
The event was graced by the Zimbabwe Episcopal Area resident Bishop Eben Kanukayi Nhiwatiwa and his spouse Mrs. Greater Nhiwatiwa who is the President of RRW (Rukwadzano Rwe Wadzimai) in the Episcopal Area.
Such festivals begin at district level, and then culminate in the holding of the Conference RRW Festivals. The year 2014 will see the organization taking the festivals one level higher to the Episcopal Area. The Episcopal Area RRW Music Festivals will be held on the 26th of July 2014 at Mabelreign (Revelation).
Top choirs from Zimbabwe West Annual Conference (ZWAC) and Zimbabwe East Annual Conference (ZEAC) will battle it out for honours at the Episcopal Area festival.
